This is the unicorn for my baby bedroom which we painted with doggymommy by Skype. I was somewhat stressed but went in the adventure with open heart and mind.
This is animal #3 for me.
I hope I am back with oil paints now after a long break.

@cronenberg - I watched the video partially, got an idea. Then found a horse photo. When I sketched it, it was freehand based on the photo of a horse. I would not be able to explain how I did that, I started with the triangle pretty much. Then went on my own to work from darks spots through medium tone to light. Color scheme was something that I totally branched out on my own as I wanted to avoid pink and create something related to color of the flower the name of my daughter means.
Such beautiful, soothing colors. Great work!

Fantastic bringing to life of a mythical and mystical creature with different shades and hues. Spectacular addition to a child's room. My granddaughter LOVES unicorns----dare I even try?! Great job.

@Lc - this is dioxazine purple mixed with white, black, and yellow ochre.
@docluv - yes, surely try. But please research horses photos before and find one that you like to use as a base for your unicorn. It will help to establish dark and lights.
@Ninoum - thank you so much. I like the colors too. My only concern here that area. Of background is very similar to the area of unicorn and compositionally it is a bit boring. But I can live with it.
Hey there Sunny, just saw your comment. I had to re-look it up too, and the definition says sadness or regret. When I wrote it, I meant more like pensive/longing/yearning. There is a slight sense of sadness here, but that was not the main meaning I intended.

@happyisland - You will never believe, I only painted an eye and signature with a small brush. I am glad though that rough brush strokes create that illusion of details.
The painting got splashed by cleaning supplies. I washed it out but it erased paint in some areas to the white canvas...oh those harsh chemicals... i need to find time to fix it. Luckily the damage is minimal.
