Oil on canvas
80x60 cm
Based on a photograph I took years ago when on vacation in Belgium.
I stretched the canvas (cotton really) myself and primed it at least 4 times with a transparant gesso to which I added some burnt umber to give it a brown linnen tint.
Then it took me quite a few painting sessions to get the whole thing done using mostly small (nr 4 to 8) filbert brushes.
Each session was done wet-on-wet untill the entier canvas was filled. Then I went back in here and there all over the painting for some details.
That's great. I want to step into it.
This is so beautiful. Your leaf work is gorgeous and the way you depicted the bright light filtering through the trees is excellent.
Spectacular--congrats!
I was deeply moved. Your technique is outstanding, and your use of color is exquisite!

Very nice. I like the sun hitting the backlit trees.
