I like how all the shadows add contrast to the scene.

Really good

Love it! Trees are awesome and shadows are terrific!

I will echo Sandy and the depth is great too for being in the middle of the woods! Super!

Thank you all! <3
This is still one of my favorites.
The shadow of that tree that is almost right in front of the sun is a bit too wide imho, but other than that I'm quite happy with how the foliage turned out. Looking light and fluffy.
I had quite a lot of fun with those big tree trunks as well.

Your wood paintings (and all the others) are gorgeous!

Awesome

Wonderful!! It's all there - details, shadow, reflection, light, dark, color. You have a great eye for what looks right.

That big tree on the right is phenomenal. Really makes me think that I should focus more on reflected light in my paintings.

Beautiful bark with reflected light, beautiful piece of sky in the middle and great shadows work as lines to take the eye into the painting.

You must be a professional artist? Aren’t you?

I checked your instagram - so many beautiful paintings! The mountains look absolutely gorgeous on your paintings!

Thank you, Sunnylady. <3
Depends on what you classify as professional artist...
I did go to artschool in the second half of the 90's, but never picked up a career as an artist. In fact, I painted only 3 paintings or so in the past 20 years, before rediscovering Bob Ross.

Great work. Absolutely amazing.

@Titia - I see. Glad that Bob brought you back into arts ! You have a great talent. Please do not stop painting again.

You probably have been substituting painting with photo in those last 20 years?

Professional to me - the one who sells their art works. The question of that is enough to make living out of it stays opened. 😂

@Sunnylady - I have sold 2 of these paintings so far. So, not nearly enough to make a living out of it. But the fact that 2 people were willing to spent some money buying my paintings is an immense compliment! <3
Btw, for a living, I teach math in highschool. Totally different career. LOL!

I worked as lab tech most of my life and chemist in background. So totally understand what you say. However, need to add that math is always in the paintings.

Selling even a few works as great motivation to paint more! Totally agree with you on this.

Wow… this is really nice. The shadows are what make it pop! It almost looks like a photograph! Amazing.

Gorgeous! I love your woodsy scenes with the light peeking through the trees. I want to just sit against that big tree and relax in the quiet!
