Still my all time favorite painting. We hung this up in our living room. Unfortunately at the time I created this I had only few experience with oils. If I would do this one again I would do a lot of things differently, especially put in shadows behind the foreground trees.
But I decided to don’t touch this any more. I remember I worked almost 6 hours in one visit on this one🤪
But I love the colors smoothly going from yellow to deep purple. And with this one my love for paintings with strong red hue began!
I am sure I will do this again one day. And then even on a larger canvas.

This is very impressive Tom! I can see how it must have been a challenge to make the colors go so smoothly from orange to purple. Love the little cabins/houses. The one with the lights on make the painting more vibrant for sure!
Many thanks Nancy! Yes this was a challenge but I still enjoy the picture. It is my favorite I painted yet, though it is for sure not my best executed oil painting.
The cabin with the light is the favorite part of almost everyone who saw it 😃
