'Serenity Now' - original

TonyM 15 Jun 2022

To be honest, the main reason for this painting was to try out a color background behind the oval. I mixed some acrylic burnt sienna with white gesso to get the color.

I just started painting with nothing in mind on this one. I just wanted to practice a few elements. I have to say, I am actually satisfied with this painting. It is the first time I ever felt this way about one of my paintings. Hence the title 'Serenity Now'.

I had some bleed under the tape on the oval, but it seemed to take the touch up fairly well. I used 12" wide blue painters tape to mask off the oval.

18 x 24 canvas. Painting #34 in my awesome Bob Ross experience. I am really enjoying the journey.

As always, constructive comments are welcome and appreciated. Thanks for looking, I appreciate you all.

That background color turned out great, really nailed it there. To me, the right colored background makes the oval paintings feel more complete. The mountain shape and clouds are really nice too, we’ll done all around.

Beautiful composition and the oval looks great! Nice background color in oval and love your details! Really beautiful!

This is really pretty, great job 😀

Well done! Great highlights on the foliage. Is this title an allusion to Seinfeld?

I am a big Seinfeld fan Micah. My fantasy baseball teams this year are : Macinaw Peaches, Serenity Now, and Art Vandalay's. I have also used Why Not Me? and No Soup For You as fantasy BB team names. LOL

Haha that’s awesome!
