For the first time I was asked to paint something for someone. My dad asked me to paint something with a mountain and a colorful sky. He further stipulated that he wanted to put it in an 8X10 picture frame.
Here are three I came up with. He likes the two on the right.
These are painted on 8X10 canvas board. First time using canvas board. Bob wasn't lying they soak up the paint quickly.
I like the middle one for the purple color.
I also have been using canvas board. I recommend you coat with gesso first because the cheap board don't have enough. Sometimes it takes 2 layers. And let that dry all way, I think it really helps. Nice part is they make gray and black gesso if you're interested in toned surface
