First attempt at digital oil painting, what a fantastic technology, I absolutely love the power it gives you .. I am a convert .. I did something simple to begin with but looking forward to doing something more complex next. All painted with one finger !! crazy
This is really cool. Also saw the background one you did. I see a lot of digital artwork while on sites like this etc. Interesting medium. I can see the attraction to it, especially the no mess part! I guess I am old school and I just like the physical painting itself.
David, you have such a wonderful eye for value control, no matter digital, acrylic or oil.
Also that app that you mentioned in previous submission works wonders in terms of oil brushes available for the use.
I tried to do the digital but from the phone screen and this is certainly a disaster for me, however, my favorite button in digital is Undo which allows so much more experimenting.

Hi ya thank you for all your comments, the digital stuff is a revelation to me, didn't know anything about it until Sunday. I never imagined you could blend stuff like in real oil paintings. Painting each blade of grass is fun as well. I will see where it takes me, but really enjoying it, which is the main thing.. I will see hat happens. Happy painting in whatever medium .. they all have there pros and cons.. would be great to mix them all..
Yeah after Seeing what you did the first time I had to go and download this program as well just to see or maybe even use it as a pre-plan for what I want to do/try. Thanks

Hi mbbrickner I used my sons iPad Pro and something called art set 4 which has oil painting capability ... I think its crazy, never tried it before, the grass took me about 20 minutes with a single finger and the trees and sky the same, no clearing up afterwards either . I used simulated acrylics and oils in this one. I am onto a new one already. I like acrylics and I like oils but this is as good in my opinion with the ability to blend the paint on the screen ! crazy .. I did some very quick backgrounds first I uploaded them just because I couldn't believe what you could do with your finger.. Hope that helps ..Happy Painting. I am going to have a look at procreate as well.
David, I’ve only dabbled with procreate but became easily frustrated with it. I am definitely going to have to try Art Set 4. Thanks for sharing!
