Glow above Mt Graham. The image was adjusted to make the painting less saturated. I would like to learn how to paint with less saturation.

The power is in grays! Really awesome intent. I am trying to monitor myself when paint too and what gray I create and totally understand what challenge you are up to!
Adding opposite on color wheel color to desaturate is something I am doing and you may try that too. Looking forward to your next painting!
