Acrylic on canvas | 8”x10” | This is a project that I based on a tutorial from Plaid’s presentation during a Michael’s Community Classroom session. The original tutorial used a small square canvas and only one pumpkin. Since I was using a rectangular canvas, I opted to add two more pumpkins. The process took a few days, because I needed to let first three layers of paint dry one layer at a time. Fortunately, the top two layers could be applied with less time in between coats. The title is an ode to Linus from “ The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.”
Thank you!
You have great light control on pumpkins. To enhance try to add darker value for shadows just under the pumpkins so it will sit them onto some surface and do not touch up anything else. You can take an egg from a fridge and put on a table and create similar light with the lamp and see where the darkest shadow is.
Thanks for that great advice. I felt like the shadow under the pumpkins needed some more definition. I’ll try to increase the value in that area. Thanks!
