Original Creation

Calming Bosporus waters

mbbrickner 13 Jan 2022

Oil on paper | 9”x12” | I’ve been using Gamblin’s solvent-free fluid for a few months now and have been really enjoying it. I love the flow that it provides but didn’t like how it affected the viscosity of the paint. I bought a tube of the solvent-free gel and tried it on this painting. Wow! I love how the gel holds brush marks yet allows the paint to just glide on a dry surface.

Monet style, very inspiring creation!

Thank you! Yes, I had Monet’s River Thames paintings in mind as I painted this one.

Wonderful sky!

Thank you!

I love this one Micah. I like how the brush strokes appear and think I will get me some solvent free gel and give it a shot. A very pretty painting for someone.

Thank you! Yes, I love the brush marks that a thick paint gives. I'd be curious to hear about your experience when you try the gel.
