Watercolor and ink underpainting on canvas | 11"x14" | I'm giving this watercolor underpainting technique another try. I find that this is really helping me better develop my composition skills. While I love Bob Ross' "compose as you go" philosophy, I personally feel like I better benefit from having some direction ahead of time. Because watercolor dries quickly, I can easily sketch and paint in my living room (while being with my family) and then finish painting with oils in my attic in another sitting.
