Acrylic on canvas | 9”x12” | I enjoy the convenience and flexibility of acrylic paint but prefer the thickness I can achieve with beeswax medium and oils. For this painting I tried some acrylic modeling paste mixed in with the acrylic paint. I was so impressed with how it creates a really similar effect to cold wax. The one drawback is that in order to get it as thick as the wax, the paint becomes very dull and matte. I think I’ll need to put a satin varnish overtop.

Pretty painting, I especially love the bridge and the stone colour and effect.
