Oil on paper | 9”x12” | I wanted to try oils on paper again. It’s thick watercolor paper with two coats of gesso on the front and one on the back. I also mixed a bit of acrylic paint with the gesso to get a beige colored ground which I find to be very helpful in judging value levels.
Thanks so much! It was a bit time consuming, but once I painted the mortar lines first, I was mostly able to quickly added splashes of color with a #6 bright which was the same wide as the brick height.
