Rez Life - Depot Cooley 49er

Like a lot of small towns, we’d find a spot in the country where a bon fire was going and beer was flowing. Ours always had at least one fight. A popular place in our town was called Depot Cooley. They call these big parties “49ers”.

I depicted one fighter as a fat man, representing the oppression brought to the Rez over the last 150 years and the skinny man as one fighting back against it.
