Evergreen Valley

HappyLittleCloud 18 Dec 2021

This is the second of two I'm posting for this painting. I challenged myself for speed and consistency. I painted one they way Bob does, and I painted one with a different sky. Other than making the sky obviously different in the two, I tried to keep the overall finished product as similar as possible. I did notice the mountains ended up shaped a tad different, and some of that might be because the weird perspective I had looking at the first painting from my second easel. Overall I had a blast on this challenge, and ended up with two completed paintings in 3 and 1/2 hours! Which is your favorite!?

I love this idea of 2 at one time. I have been comparing your 2 versions and you did manage to keep them so very similar! My vote is going to the pink sky. I feel like the mountains pop more against that sky than the golden one. It was a tough choice!

Both are beautiful but I also prefer the pinkish sky! Good job!

I'll go with the yellow sky also; BUT both are absolutely great. Congratulations on keeping them otherwise similar; a difficult thing to do. Well done.

I like that new sky and its great contrast with the harder green used up front. Mountains stand guard and cannot be overlooked!
