Painting quite some rubbish means you have canvasses to spare for recycling. Today I did such and recycled a small canvas by scraping off old paint and adding one or two layers of black gesso.
I was into quite a big surprise you know since I wanted to experiment a little today with this creation and expected a poor end result. Part of the experiment were the use of different brushes then Bob, another was the speed where I did not pause Bob very much. Result is that this was done in some 40 minutes, brush cleaning included. Between us, this painting is really not that difficult at all.
In the end, this creation really stood out, at least me and the family think so!

Canvas used was a recycled 10"x12". Hardest part for me were the clouds. Easist were the trees, bushes and paths. I decided not to paint the cabin since somehow it did not suit here on such small canvas and I hated to ruin my bushes.

Now I wonder if I need to redo this one on a 18"x24" or bigger .... should give that some thought!

Very nice highlights on those bushes!

Really wonderful bushes and trees and I like how the path drops out of sight down to the water Voy.

I'm drawn to the back bank behind the trees on the right side. It's just perfect how the water is rippling out there. Very calm and peaceful. Great job!

Thank you Pam! I love tapping bushes with one side of the 1 inch brush. Both sides are loaded with different bush colors so I can really go fast painting those while switching whenever I want to!

Indeed Brian, a happy accident from my side where I had less white on the brush for the central path but luckily enough, it showed depth and character that way!

Great comment Tawny and yes, now I spotted it too. I guess it might be some ripples from the earlier painting that was on it. This canvas was recycled but now, I am VERY pleased I got that effect as an extra!!

Till next one!
