To be honest I used not only shades of grey. Added a little bit crimson to let the temperature be somewhat higher. It was the first time I saw Bob paint evergreens with the knife with highlights and shadows. The lightsource in this painting was coming fron the middle of the sky, but the highlights on the mountain were all on the right site, by all mountains. On canvasboard 30 x 24 cm painted on saturday, when the weather showed only grey colors.
