Still really struggling with how thick or thin to make my paint. Have to do some more watching on this. I think once I figure it out things will get much better very quickly.

I have only been at this for about a month and have the same problem. One way I started to improve in that area was this: it start with just a little paint on the brush. Touch the canvas. If looks good, great. If not, add a paint little by little until you get where you want to be. Bob says "You can always add more paint, but it's hard to remove it."
