Winter Moon

I think that I really like working with only a few colors. It helps me to focus on the techniques and not get bogged down trying to get the colors just right. For this one, Bob has you start with a black jessoed canvas and then apply a mix of brown and blue instead of a liquid white or clear. In my experience, simply applying the paints to the canvas will not let you get the results you want. I softened (liquided?) up that mixture with a little linseed oil before putting it on the canvas. That basically made it a liquid brown/blue and the other paints went on smoothly. Watch me paint this from start to finish in real time, with commentary, here: https://youtu.be/rLnDiVxz0Hw
