Still working on waves and clouds. Any tips?

Just lots of practice.

I still struggle with my clouds. You're not alone! The colors are nice! Love your palm tree.

Nice

Clouds are too dark and too purple and this might be the reason you do not like them. If you manage to glaze over to lighten them up and mute them down to muddy purple they will sit well in the painting.

Wave: distant big wave is a great wave, problem comes when you look at smaller wave which does not follow perspective. At this angle it would rather look like a D-smile emoticon. Let me try to put an example for you and post under one of my paintings and when you check it I will remove it from there.

Indeed you are not alone in the battle with clouds and waves. Learning about perspective and accepting that perspective happens in the sky as well as on the ground will help you to paint better and work rather on colors than trying to iron out perspective when too many paint is already on the canvas.

The shore part is absolutely awesome by the way!

Please check my adjustment on the attached additional pictures under my posted painting here: https://www.twoinchbrush.com/originals/Sunnylady/inspired-by-aivazovsky

It is a quick and digital touch ups but you can save them on your computer and compare one to one with your painting to see where i was driving at and hopefully it will help.

If you want you can copy those adjusted pictures under your painting here so you do not loose them, because as soon you let me know I will remove the edits from my post.

Sunlady, thanks so much! Iā€™m not a particularly creative person, so need examples and particular ways to correct. So your photos of my modified picture were very helpful. Appreciate it

You are a creative person because you create your own art! yes, we all follow tutorials and this is how we learn, you are going to learn a lot on your creative path. Just keep you heart and soul opened to new discoveries as they happen in every painting and when you naturally detour from Bob Ross to other instructors you will find more Artistic adventures.
