Around the Bend

Ninoum 13 Jul 2023

Here is my version of β€œAround the Bend”. I had this one on the back burner since I started painting. I waited until today to post it to get the best lighting. The colors are def more vibrant than the picture I took yesterday.

I am not crazy about my outcome. I tried to rush it and it bit me in the booty. 😑 Tho, I had fun, as always, to do this one.

beautiful. awesome depth all over, I especially love the highlighting on the evergreens towards the back. that transition from light to dark is masterfully done. :D

I think this is wonderfully done!

Beautiful N! One of my favorite pieces, I need to do this one on a bigger canvas bcuz I did mine on a 8x10. Love the fuzzy tree!

one of my favorite of Bobs! You did great on it!

It is great

This is absolutely beautiful!! You are amazing at foliage.

This is so realistic, very nice.

Nice version Nancy!

Thank you my friend Jeffth!

Funny fact... I always watch the tutorial once before painting and always refer to the book's picture to base mine from. I notice a little hiccup from Bob... He said that the lighting was coming from the right side when he was making his background evergreens. I thought it was odd because all of his peninsula shadows/highlights were on the opposite side. So when he talks about the highlights of the pine tree's trunks, he says: "Maybe we'll put our light side over here (opposite side of the evergreens)." He then realize that it was supposed to come from the other side so he adds: "I don't think it really matters too much in this particular painting." πŸ˜‚ He caught himself messing it up. That was quite funny.

Thank you my friend Tomi! πŸ˜€

I appreciate my friend!! πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺβ˜€οΈ That's my fav part of the painting as well.

Thank you very much Sandy! It's only when I was done that I saw the effects I gave to my bg evergreens. I used 2 highlights colors. 😊

Thank you Matt. They are the best part of the painting! Lol!

I appreciate Jessie! Thanks very much! It's def a classic from Bob! Beautiful compo indeed.

Thank you Cold! 😊

Thank you Lc! Foliage is always so much fun to do. I use different brushes to make them so they look different.

Thank you abha! β˜€οΈ

Thank you Jos! πŸ˜ƒ

Very nice as always. This was one of the first pictures I sold, done with acrylics. You put in a lot of super nice details.

Thank you much Tom. I will have to try acrylics at some point. A lot of times, I wish I could do a hybrid painting… starts with acrylics and finish with oils. The time is coming soon for me. I can feel it!

Looking very good Nancy. <3
The colours, the details. And I love how there's a late afternoon sunny look to it.
