As there’s the 40th anniversary of ‚The Joy of painting‘ this year I thought I have to create my own interpretation of the first episode.
So here it is. I made it much darker than Bob on purpose. I wanted to give a morning feeling when the sun just rises ad there are still dark and light contrasts. So my painting might look very different from the original. I didn't want to put in the foreground tree as I had already so much paint on the canvas. It would have been possible if I let it dry for some days but I am not that patient, lol.

Without seeing the title I recognized immediately it was Bob's first episode. Your sky is smashing and I like the division of the water in seperate puddles.

Thank you Tomi. I just wanted to make this different. I do not like the strong tendency to purple Bob has in some of his paintings. So I used much more blue here.
Thanks Dirk. Definitely Bill influences me a lot. I prefer his style much more than others I have seen yet.
