A year ago tomorrow, will mark my 1 year anniversary doing my very 1st oil painting. I never thought I would ever paint in my life. Bob convinced me to try after hearing him over and over again that it could work for me. The rest, is a beautiful history of 211 compositions, all posted here.
I did Distant Mountains as my 1st. I was blown away when I saw the result (see picture attached). I was addicted right away. I decided to revisit that composition a year later to see how I would do with my 1 year old skills. Amazing memories popped thru out. I even had an argument w/my husband about the path (that I had to redo 3 times) back then. Lol!! Anyhow, this is what came out of my paint brushes today.
The reason why I did this one today (Sunday) is because September 11 was a Sunday last year. I felt doing a pre-celebration symbolic painting. I will be painting a BR composition for my true anniversary day tomorrow.

it's fun to see you return to this style after seeing your more kevin hill-style work. how did this one feel in comparison to those more detailed ones? Also, what you have accomplished in one year (211 paintings, too) should be an inspiration to anyone here. Thank you for being such a wonderful peer on this site. You offer so much encouragement and support to everyone (like those books you loaned to me, which I am still intending to work with!). Never change, and I look forward to seeing another year of wonders!

Thank you Jeffth my brother! It’s something I could never imagine doing in my life. It feels very special. Now I understand what a true passion is. I thought fitness was it but if I compare it to painting, it’s not even close! Lol!
This painting was so simple to put on canvas this time around. And to compare to the very detailed ones and the KH’s, it feel like riding a bicycle, it feels like home. Painting BR is now so relaxing and fun for me. I truly experience the JOP when I paint one of his compositions.

Helping everyone is a real pleasure. I gain as much as those who receive. All of you were there to help me out as well when I had questions. Everyone picked me up when I felt defeated from a painting that didn’t come out the way I wanted. Only other artists can understand and feel another one.
