This one is very special to me! One of my favorite of Bobs and favorite combination of colors! For this one I had to do something special- It's painted on a giant 30x36 piece of Maple Plywood. Is this the largest version of Horizons West that's ever been done?
I had this board setup all Summer in 2022, picked away at it, with a set of 4 inch and 2 inch brushes instead of the regular 2 inch and 1 inch, as well as some very large fan brushes. I'm least happy about the island on the right-hand side.... I call it Mud Mixing Island, or Thanksgiving Island.
I was very generous with the paint, lots of thick textures and build up on the mountains and with the knife in the foreground making the blue shadow tone...
