Sunset Aglow

MattSeabrook 22 Nov 2023

One of the first of Bob's I attempted to do in late 2021, early 2022. Regular 18x24 canvas. I decided not to do any of the green highlights in the foreground, ended up liking the darker look. My storm cloud looks too much like a UFO for my liking...

I agree. The sky could use a little bit more blending to make it look less like a giant battle cruiser coming in. The cloud on the top right is really cool.

Great colors and perspective! ☀️ BTW, your clouds don't look like a UFO! 😉

There are no rules as far as the shape of clouds. Once you have made them, you bled gently (doing little "coma" strokes) the bottom and a little the inside of them. Leave the top part raw, untouched. When done then you fluff them up in a circular motion with barely any hair touching the canvas. Nic was telling us that if you do 10 circular strokes, only 3-4 of those will actually brush the canvas slightly & very gently. You should miss getting in contact with your canvas for most of them. I use a blender blush (mop brush) for that step.

Appreciate the feedback and information! I definitely need to try this one again on a 24x30

Looks great Matt. I look forward to your next version. Cheers

Thank you DaveJ!
