This is a very nice version David!! Love your colors. Your layering is perfect. 🙌🏼
I echo Bob. The background trees may have just a tad too much detailing. That's why you may have the impression of a lack of depth. They should also be done with a lighter color. Far objects are lighter in color. As you bring your elements to the foreground, you start darkening them more and more. 😉 Hope this helps.

Try tapping out and blurring the trees in the far back. Highlight only those trees closet to you. Overall though, this is pretty darn good!
