Once I had to try this scene, not my first choice, but when I saw it was on black canvas and the beautiful colors in the sky I wanted to paint it today and kept the pt.green around the horizon. The sky and buildings were fun to do, most difficult were the 'feet' of the mill, on a smal canvas hard to keep them thin, on canvasboard of 30 x 24 cm.
Update 19 Mar: added a picture of my preparation for this scene, maybe helpful for all who struggle with the shapes of cabins like me; I (sometimes) draw them on paper, cut them out, lay it on the canvas when I have to paint them on the place where needed and scratch the outside and some inner important lines out with a palletknife before bringing on the basic layer. Remark: the circles are for the windmill.
