Mountain Summit

lightsnow 06 Sep 2019

Here is a picture demonstrating my 6 month progression, from painting #1 to painting #19. It's a good comparison as both scenes are quite similar. I can definitely see some improvement. I wanted to post this and just say I never thought I'd wind up painting. I never had any artistic skills and could never really draw well. With a bit of patient, determination, and practice, good things happen! I'm curious to see what the 1 year picture will look like and, hopefully, the 5 and 10 year comparisons and so on!

I really like the birch trees in the second picture.

Nice job

This is really encouraging to see. I also never had any artistic skills and I really hope my progression looks like yours. The mountains have improved, the foliage has improved, the trees have improved, and the water has improved. Congratulations!

^ Thanks for commenting. I remember this being a big moment. The encouraging news is that it keeps getting better and better. If you look at my more recent paintings, you can see that those themselves have improved from this second one depicted here where it says it was my 6 month anniversary. It's been around 4 years now but I've largely been dormant for 1.5 years. I'm hoping to get back into it later this spring. Hope you enjoy your painting journey. Always keep in mind that the next one will be better and keep moving forward, as Bob always suggested :)
