Blue Winter

Myle 19 Dec 2025

I thought this would be an easy one.... 3 colours only. I had a hard time with it. I noticed that the more I try to "correct" my everygreen, the more messy they become! I still have a hard time with small canvas (40x50 cm / 16x20 Inch) and I got lost into details. Result is not too bad. still quite satisfied, but....
It took me 4 hours.

Really pretty!

Really nice overall, including the evergreens and highlights. Well worth your time.

thank you very much!

Beautiful that blue tinted water and your snow is perfect again!

Nicely done Myle✌️

I think the best pine trees I see being done on YouTube are by Josh Kirkham, from "Paint With Josh". His always come out looking nice and round. I'd recommend that anyone who wants help with those trees watch some of his videos. He uses three colours- a dark base colour, a highlight colour for the lit side and a lowlight colour for the shadow side. Just like you would do with a mountain. He also recommends using a larger fan brush for the base and a smaller fan brush for the highlights/lowlights.

I love those frosty waterlines by the way.

Thank you very much to all!
Thank you Regan for sharing this tutorial by Josh, I'll watch these videos the next days to improve my evergreens !
