Trapper's Cabin

joha59 14 Mar 2026

A retry of this episode after I saw the book version, much better then the endresult in the video. I tried to get the mountains and hills as soft as possible and also wanted to do the red colored trees, but not brighter as the roof of the cabin. Most difficult was to tap in the grassy areas, the highlight didn't want to stick the way I wanted, but I think I can live with it, I did it on a piece of wallpaper of 40 x 30 cm.

Beautifully done J! Love those mountains!

You're right, the red would be less vivid on the trees due to small buds/flowers/leaves with the green under foliage showing through. It's beautiful Jos, never even noticed this BR painting before.

Have you seen today's pic of the day, its even more red😎

The spatial layering on this is superb! And you achieved such details with the highlights. Very very inspiring!

Thank you very much P, Helen (you mean Horizons West, yeh, that's also a colorful one, but a bit unnatural) and Aron for your comments!

Ahh I love how fresh and clean and light this looks. It radiates such beautiful joy and vibrancy. I really like how the layer of yellow is shining through and that red in the front is just super popping!

Thank you Streuner, the soft yellow glow on the background was what I tried to reach in this painting, so I am glad you saw and liked it.

Super well done Jos✌️

Thank you very much Brian!

This is so very pretty to look at joha59! It is so very vibrant and soothing at the same time. Beautiful.

Thank you Kerri for your kind comment!
