A Walk in the Woods

Voy Kay 16 Dec 2019

Rainy day, a few hours to spare and a small canvas (7" x 10") at hand, so decided to spend some 100 minutes for this painting. This is only my fourth oil painting but discovered some remarkable facts.
Fact 1: cheap paint won't do it. It mixes terribly and does not stick properly on other paint. With the more expensive (semi-prof) stuff that I used, all went well!
Fact 2: A cheap very bendable pallet knife does not even come close to the excellent job you can do with a ferm pallet knife. It is 200% worth the higher price!!
Fact 3: Painting Bob Ross on a smaller canvas is really a challenge. I will vow not to do this anymore in the future!
Fact 4: Do not exagerate with the liquid white, I had too much on it and had to start over again!
Most fun was the soil where the newly bought ferm knife really does the trick! The sky was dissapointing to me yet my own fault, cheap yellow, green and blue used!

Two months without comments …. and I agree this was indeed a poor painting after all.
