Peaceful Waters

Voy Kay 01 Jan 2020

All is quiet/bright …. on a New Years day. While the family was still deeply asleep, I started with this painting from Steve Ross. Actually it's just a tutorial painting from Steve and Bob yet I was realy eager to learn something from it. In all, the painting took about 90 minutes, was easy to do and showed me that once again, I have troubles with mountains and highlighting bushes. Practice, practice, practice …. that will be the only solution!
Easy to do was the sky, the mountain shapes and the evergreens. Less easy was colouring the mountains, highlighting the bushes and keep the reflections under control. Happy 2020 everyone!!!

Over a month without comments …. guess this was indeed a poor painting after all and I agree with that. This was just practice!!!

It is lovely, we are our own worst critic. Need to remember....Bob had endless paint and canvases....and practiced much before teaching us! When I look at each version the variations and happy little accidents make each one a masterpiece! Happy painting!

Thanks for cheering this one Debeerob. The result is poor but had all to do with the fact that this creation was a Q&A episode, so few time and attention went to the complete image and representation of this creation.
