Emerald Waters

Voy Kay 12 Feb 2020

Canvas used was a 12"x16" and prepared with black gesso. Bob does not mention this (guess he simply forgot) but you need to use liquid clear up front. It makes the application of sap green and VDB brown so much easier.
I guess the background (VERY soft blending!) and the water were the easiest for this painting. I struggled always with getting some descent contrast and differences in the yellow used for bushes and leaves. I'm not too happy with that lack of contrast but overall, the painting will do I hope. LOTS of troubles with forming bushes and leaves on the trees but that has 100% to do with a set of brand new wave brushes. They are more thight then what I am used to so I need to get adjusted to them, sorry for that!

Featured Article Fantastic transparents and where to find them.

Voy Kay Conqueror of Challenges

Quite some time without comments …. guess this was indeed a poor painting after all.

Well, admired or not, this one made the central wall in my scullery.
