Gray Mountain

dep_infect 26 Jul 2020

The Bob Ross paints are much thicker than what I've been used to working with. It helps in making bright colors stay that way, but seems to make creating any subtlety a bit more difficult (the foothills, for example). I'm going to plan to work on my knife work quite a bit over the next few weeks to try to get the snow on the mountains and the color on the bank to lay out correctly. 16 x 20. I also realized how much closer attention I should pay to proportions when adding in so many planes. There are actually 4 layers of foothills (2 of which got covered up) which didn't leave enough room to finish the bottom of the painting.
