Maybe because they'd film multiple episodes at once
He always starts with clean pallet I think. I have not seen 1h long videos that are filmed after 30 min. The answer might be there. :)

Yes, I saw Bob has a lot of paint usually. I guess this is also a hint that we need to use a lot of thick paint to generate effects like he does.
