Daisies at Dawn

Voy Kay 20 Oct 2020

This time, I wanted something experimental, hence the banked oval and the black gesso frame.
In all, this is a very nice painting to do yet close attention is required on many things here. I dropped quite a few happy mistakes but countered most of them.
My sun is too bright though, the foliage outside the frame failed yet I hope to redo that when the painting dried so it's not so bad. The left side is little too dull/boring but maybe that gives depth to the other side (right) that is very filled.
It was hard for me to paint this since I used a small canvas (HQ 12"x16") but all became even more smaller with that oval.

Please enjoy and till next one!

Voy, this is a unique idea. I rather like the bright sun that appears to be burning through the fog. Pines and trees looking good and I like the overall colors and realistic water. Have you considered bringing some of your pretty foliage and flowers through the frame on lower left or right?

Dear FVG, yes, I thought about that yet considered it might be too crowded (this is a small painting). What do you think??

I was thinking back to my snow painting where I created small mounds outside of the frame and added bushes. It’s certainly not necessary, but I think it would work here using more of the same grasses and flowers.
You could even place a pine tree on it.

Fantastic painting Voy! Love this hazy atmosphere and sun shining through the thick air.

Wow! You really come up with great ideas to make these paintings your own. Great job. I love the detail of your name being reflected in the water.

Dear FVG, it would be worth looking into that! If I feel brave enough, I might ad that. Any mistakes, I can wipe out with back gesso.
Thanks for the tip!

Dear Sunnylady, really trying hard but it's a tough painting world at times.
Luckily I have my painting friends around me!

GMRII, thanks for the cheers and comment!

This banked oval shape spooked through my head already since last May, but only now have I found a suitable scenery for it!

The signature is a bit special indeed, I intend to experiment a little more with that in the future!

I love the uniqueness of this Voy! The banked oval really makes it quite original and eye catching!

Dear Heather and Tom, thanks so much for your valuable and always aimable cheers!

I was in luck that this painting was suitable for this oval. I had cut it months ago and made it right sided. So happily that worked for this creation!

I intend to do more of such tricks, with black gesso framing and experimental ovals (or similar).

Can't wait to see what else your creative mind will come up with!

Wel Heather .... there will be some happy surprises soon!

Happy painting and til soon!
