Forest Down Oval

LoriEC 03 Nov 2020

I loved the way this one came together. I used the black Gesso on the entire canvas before I applied the contact paper. Really made the center pop.

My applauds for this one!
That oval is cut out very well and using the black gesso as contour is an excellent idea. Bob does this only once ('Twilight beauty' S27E1) but he has several that would be suitable for it (cfr. my version of 'Daisies' at dawn S27E6) and yours is one of them.
Great depth created with that path and that light in the distance simply lures you to go and explore that area.
WOW!

What canvas size was this?

It is a wonderful painting. My favorites are tree highlights! Such a dramatic lighting conditions! It truly invites to walk down that path and enjoy the nature!

The canvas is a 16 x 20. Since we are still very much in the learning process, (this is my 40th), we are using this size and 11 x 14. We just started painting end of July. Once we get a bit more confidence, we will try larger sizes. I love the contrast with the black. I would like to try this painting using warm colors in the background. Also, this was my first attempt to do the little stones with the double loaded filbert. I liked the effect.
Thank you all for your encouragement. It is so nice.

I like this one very much!

The colours here work so beautifully together, lovely trees, and the path is really drawing the eye.
Id hang that on my wall!
