First time trying Bob’s “faux wood “ technique from S28/E1. Not terribly difficult and I learned from the experience.
Painters tape doesn’t stick well to dried oil on canvas- so, it was hard to get straight lines.
Oh wow, I thought that was a painting laying on a table!
Real nice painting, I can't decide which part I like the most. Either the birds, or the dark clouds, or the reflection in the water, or the bushes, or the dark water edge....

I too thought it was a painting laid on a table! There isn't one inch of this that I don't love. The painting is really neat and tidy and looks like you've painted it with great care and attention. The best parts for me are the distant trees against the skyline and the foreground foliage with all that detail and colour variation. This really is my kind of painting, and I'm proper jealous!
Great work! I especially love how the cabin is nestled in the tall grass and your sky/sun tell me there may be a storm in the future. Also great reflections.
