Splendor of a Snowy Winter

Voy Kay 02 Dec 2020

11th painting of the 27th season. I wanted something easy but with Bob's mountains, one is never sure of that! This time, I felt they went okay though. In all, a fun and easy painting to do.

Canvas used was a 10"x12" canvasboard. Liquid black was created by mixing linseed oil with ivory black paint (there is an article about this!).

Love the icicles on your cabin Voy!

Hehey Colin, I added some blue in the snow to really make it chilly, along with the ice picks!

Heather, with the eagle eyes ... you spotted well my friend!

I went to Norway with my wife in May a couple of years ago. It was the day they finally opened the road across the mountains. They used a snow plough obviously but driving along the roads the ice that had been cut really looked blue. Beautiful experience.

Aaah Norway .... what good memories I have of that country as well. Been there some 12 times I think (I'm a former worldwide hotel and airplane inspector) and saw it from top to bottom.
The polar night was an extreme wonderful experience but also the enormous fields of snow.

Thanks for reacting Colin!
