Mountain Oval

Voy Kay 01 Jan 2021

Another painting for the Steve Ross challenge and I personally think it might be the best one of the 13 from him.
Unfortunately, the picture gives no credit to the painting since in real it looks twice as good, specially the mountains!

Canvas used was a budget 10"x12". Most fun to do was the sky, toughest was painting outside the oval without any liquid white!

Please enjoy!

I love your sky, the reflections, and you nailed the toughest part, those trees and brush outside of the oval - spot on!

I think this is a good painting. The thee, the sky, wonderful.

Great sky and water! I like the mood in the painting!

Thank you Mrs. C., I am very good with birches, I dare to state, but it is so hard painting with a scriptliner on a dry canvas. I had to redo several branches two or three times but I'm happy I did such effort since the result is top, to my humble opinion!

Till next one!

Dear Hado, so nice to read your cheers and comment!
Yes, Steve used here a totally differnt way of painting that sky (the blue and pink only). I followed him closely and was amazed with the result!
I intend to use Steve's Sky technique for other paintings as well.

Thanks for visiting and till next one!!

Sunnylady, my sunshine in every cloudy day!!

You noticed indeed the key point if this painting, namely its ambience/mood.
Steve intended this to be a little dark and I even doubled that effort, like it's a day that's coming to its end and the sun is invisible.
My family was thrilled with this creation and gave multiple kudos! So really, I am VERY happy now that I started the New year with a (slight) bang also!! 😉

Till soon!
