ATHiker posted this composition of royal majesty a couple days ago and I really liked it so I thought I'd try. I knew it was too hard for me but took a shot anyway. I think it's one of my better cloudy skies but that's about where the positives stop. Struggled with the mountain...trees aren't as clean and precise as I wish, and I couldn't get the fan brush to splash the water...just a bunch of splotches. Like I said, I knew I was going to have a hard time but I hoped it'd go a little better. Thanks ATHiker for your fantastic rendition of this painting!

I think your painting is beautiful. Evergreens, reflections, sky. Good job.
I also noticed ATHikers painting, and one day I'll definitely try this one. That's one of the reasons I like this website, because I notice certain paintings that I then try, and I love seeing different interpretations of a painting.

The sky is wonderful. Very ominous. And your mountain is mighty and looks intimidating. I love it!! A tip for making splashes under the water. Barely tap your fanbrush up and then push harder if you need to but start as gentle as possible. And always add more paint if you need too. That’s a lesson I have to remind myself a lot! I this is is a lovely painting!
