Colours in the background aren’t as warm as I would have liked and struggled with the bush highlights, as usual.

Thanks Midnite Painter, will definitely look that up. Think I’m way too stingy with my paint - still on the small tubes of yellows and sap green I bought in January and I’ve done just over 30 paintings.

Put some liquid white or clear oil medium on your brush, not much, then put your highlight color on your brush, good amount, tap it in the brush. Check out Diane Andre forest road on YouTube, it’s old and very informative on the subject.
