One year ago I painted my first painting. Today I painted the same painting again.
The main difference between painting then and now is that by now I've learnt enough of Bob's technique so that I don't have to constantly check how he paints certain things. And I do things much more my way when it comes to shaping and placing clouds and other elements in the painting. I'm quite happy with the progress I made. Maybe next year I'll do this again.

Excellent! What a great experiment! You've come a long way. Every aspect of your new painting shows improvement, in my opinion. More specifically: better contrast, improved foliage detail, more dimensional clouds, etc. I think the original is quite great in its own right, but seeing them side-by-side shows your progress. Nice work; I hope you will do this again next year!
