Quiet Cove

dracula 17 Oct 2021

I had to make the best using a damaged and previously abandoned canvas. I think this made me invest less than I normally would, but that's fine. Luckily I have more canvases arriving this week.

Very nice - I like the way you have highlighted the grass in the foreground. It really adds to the atmosphere to the painting.

Great, as usual. Nice shady area up front with a light background.

I have always admired your tree foliage. What is your technique?

Love the sky and distance that you created D

Thank you everyone, you are very kind!

@flippergirlpaints - I don't necessarily have a single technique in place for deciduous trees, but in this case, it was mostly done with the corner of a fan brush and then at the end, I used a dagger brush just to coax out some leafy edges. I think it usually takes about three passes: dark, middle leaf color, and highlight color. I also usually try to add in a couple of dead leaf colors here and there.
