This is one of Bill's paintings that I have found fascinating for a long time since I saw it from Tom 0779. Now a tutorial was finally available and I took the opportunity. The most difficult part for me was to paint the bison. That was a real challenge and screwed up my time a lot. It's the painting where I've worked on the longest so far. I changed this and that to my taste but tried to stay close to the original. This is now my version of Bill Alexander's "Buffalo in Winter“and I hope you like it. As always fresh from before 25 min.
Canvas 24 x 30 cm (9.45 x 11.80 inch)2x white gesso, grinded 240/400, liquid white, time ca.5 hours
The second picture below has slight modifications especially with the bison in the foreground.

Your Buffalo are better than Bill’s
Question for you… I’m from Montana, right at the foot of the Rockies on an Indian Reservation…. In my 56 years, I’ve never seen a house just sitting out among the Buffalo. They’d knock that sucker flat. I’m wondering if you think Bill started to make a Buffalo and transformed it into a house?
