Original Creation

Bayou Country - Bill Alexander

Dirk1968 29 Dec 2023

I found this painting by Bill by chance on the net and was thrilled. Unfortunately, there was no tutorial , only the photo and therefore no title. I tried to design the rainforest within the scope of my possibilities ,not to drive me crazy whether it works or not ( As Bill would say, "don't be too careful )and adapted the colors to my taste. because I found the original colors a bit "toxicβ€œ also I wanted it to be a little brighter. .I have to say also this time it was very challenging to build up so many shades of green in layers to create depth ,trees with moss and also to represent the reflections in the water. The other was of course to paint the canoe with the fisherman. The first time I tried to represent a person in one of my paintings .I am satisfied for that. It has helped a lot to see many tutorials by Bill to even find the approach in which direction it has to go.If you know the title of this painting, let me know. βœ…As always, totally fresh from 30 minutes ago and I hope you like it

Canvas, 24 x 30 cm ( 9.45 x 11.80 inch )2x white gesso , grinded 240/400, liquid white ,Time 3.5 Hours
βœ…Tom 0779 has already told me the title(Thank you for your support,Tom)

Wow! Wow! Wow! You did a wonderful job! Probably one of your bests! Hands down! Happy new year my friend!

P.S. I tried to comment on it yesterday, but TIB wouldn’t load after a few minutes being in it and giving me β€œgate error”!

Hey Nancy, first of all I would like to thank you for your wonderful comment and secondly for your ongoing support and now friendship. I've been on TIB for a year now and could always count on you, from the beginning. Thank you so much and come well into the new year

P.S. I also have that with the loading error (gate error) often. πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ

So stunning. Such a calm feeling looking at your painting. Cant wait to try it aswell.

Guten Morgen Lukas. Thank you for your great comment. Unfortunately, there is no tutorial you can use. I relied on my eye and my experience and painted it from the photo. It wasn't one of the simple ones. I would be happy if you give it a try. My tip is to watch as many tutorials from Bill as you can. It will help youπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ

I love your paintings; Bill Alexander was a wonderful artist and teacher and was kind enough to share his talents and kindness with all of us.

Good Morning from Germany, ETA. First of all, I would like to thank you for your great words. And secondly, I agree with you, Bill was an extraordinary artist with his friendly and enthusiastic manner. No Mercy and Fire inπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ

Hey Dave, greetings to Australia. Thank you for your comment. An honor, my friend πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ

Hi Dirk! You killed it man. Just a perfect painting! Nice work.

Hey Bob. It's nice that you still like it when you look at it again.. unfortunately I don't have any new material at the moment because my entire time for building the custom kitchen knives goes on it. That's hobby number 1 next to my sportπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ

Very nice, with the boot, fisherman and the reflections

Good morning Ted, greetings from Germany. I thank you very much and I am happy that you like it. Based on the date, you can see that I don't have the time to paint at the moment, but I have prepared something in between and hope to be completed soon πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ

Nicely done Dirk :) I’ve never come across this one myself but you did a nice job. I admire the boat as well. For some reason I struggle with that one. Nice :)

Good Morning, Daniel First of all, I would like to say thank you. I had never painted a person or a canoe before or integrated it into my pictures, so I just tried it. It wasn't easy but with some time, feasibleπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ
