Early Autumn

Voy Kay 14 Dec 2021

This painting has some story to tell. It was almost six months ago since I started a Ross painting with a smile! I stopped halfway to have some coffee, a big slice of Mandarin cake (baked at home) and watch an entire Christmas movie. Afterwards I continued, finished the job but must admit I wasn't too pleased with the end results.
Canvas used was a budget 12"x16". The colours did not came out as I wanted them to, the mountain (again) became a boring creature and for some reason I never got the highlights correctly on the evergreens.

Guess I should have uploaded that slice of cake!!

You are getting back up to speed Voy! The mountain shape is great and complex, not just triangles.

Voy Kay Conqueror of Challenges

Indeed Sunnylady, Bob created a different kind of mountain here and I followed him.

Not sure if Bob can bake Mandarin cake as well as us though! 😂

That cake and coffee sounds wonderful!
Your pines have nice form and the distant mountains look quite distant.
May you start your next painting, and every painting with a smile. Have a Merry Christmas! 🎄
