Warm Winter Day

Voy Kay 27 Jan 2022

Wanted to get rid of some older stock so chose a cardboard for today's recreation. Not my favourite canvas at all but this one went pretty well today. I loved the sky from the picture so that's why I wanted to paint this one.

A budget canvasboard 10"x12" was used for this creation and that explains the rather mediocre end result.
Easiest part were the sky and the tree. Tougher parts were the snowbanks, the cabin (too small for my less then 100% handhandling) and the foliage. I guess for the latter, I ended up with way too colourful bushes on the left!!

VERY pleased with my tree though!!

Still a lovely painting

The snowy trees behind the cabin look great sir! Shows snow while still giving the impression of branches etc. I like it Voy!

Thank you Moai, glad you're back and that your absence was not Corona related! 😊

Hey Brian, yes the back trees are not bad at all. Consider that this whole painting was done with a one inch brush and a pallet knife only. I was happily surprised by the result and so much wished I took a much bigger canvas for this!!

Till next one!

Fantastic result with just a one inch brush and knife! The snowy trees area looks great.. I think it may be fall on the left, or could that be a return to spring? Nice work.

Yes Debbie, this was a challenge but not difficult one.
Bob had put more ochre on his brush to diminish the green and yellow he was using. I did as well yet not enough. In fact those bushes look great but then in another season! 😋
