In the Midst of Winter

In The Midst Of Winter - s31e12

I decided on another winter scene for this go round.

This painting offers many of the elements I wanted to practice: Evergreens with the branches pointing up (never tried this), a barn (only painted about 6 structures ever), branches on trees, and icy bushes. The only thing I am not satisfied with is the path. Too straight. I have to admit, I spent as much time correcting happy accidents as I did painting the picture I think ;)

I am at the point where I feel my paintings are definitely progressing, but I feel I am still spending too much time fixing happy accidents. Anyone else feel this way when they paint?

18x24 canvas. Painting #65 in my awesomely fun Bob Ross experience. (fun fact: 26 of the 65 are original compositions, rest are mainly Bob Ross paintings). Never created a painting in my life before Feb 1, 2022. I am really enjoying the journey. As usual picture quality kinda sucks and the painting is much sharper when looking at it.. Still not good at photographing my paintings. I just can't seem to get the camera to focus correctly.

As always, constructive comments/feedback are welcome and appreciated. Thanks for looking, I appreciate you all.

Great painting, Tony. The sky colors are very well blended to give off that glow. Your structure is great, too. I've only done a few cabins. They're tough. Nothing wrong with your path. It kind of has an icy look to it, so whoever comes out of that barn better what his step. 🙂

Seriously, nice job on everything.

I love the background evergreens. Really pretty.

Love the evergreens and the sky.
