Brown Mountain

NickReynolds 27 Feb 2023

Brown mountains used to give me so much trouble, but I find them to be so much fun now. I decided to go for a sky full of wispy cirrus clouds this time because I feel like they help a sky to look more vast.

Really pretty scene!

Thanks, Sandy. I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

Good job

Good looking mountains! Great shape to them and I like the highlight and Shadow colors. Also nice evergreen trees.

Gorgeous Nick! The colors being more naturals makes your painting so realistic! Love your clouds. How did you make them to look like cirrus ones?

Thanks, Nancy. The cirrus clouds are really simple. I used a fan brush, and made long narrow tails that widened into the fluffy ends. Then I just blended them a little and they were done. This is the image I used as a reference to get the type of cloud I was thinking of:

They came up sooo good! Very similar to the picture you inspired yourself with! I will def use that technique for those type of clouds! Thanks Nick!

Nice job Nick - brown mountains still haunt me.

Super pretty.
